Pearlnest privacy policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
In short
- Pearlnest does not collect, send or sell personal data.
- Your files are encrypted and stay on your phone. Reefstacks never receives them.
- There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
Who we are
Pearlnest is an app by Reefstacks, a software studio based in Colombia. For any privacy question, write to hola@reefstacks.app.
What data the app handles and where it stays
The photos, videos and documents you save are encrypted on your phone with AES-256 and stored in the app's private storage. Names, dates and thumbnails are stored encrypted too.
The vault key is stored, protected by your PIN, in the system's secure keystore (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android) and is marked so it can't leave the device. Your PIN, pattern and recovery phrase are never stored in readable form.
Your preferences (for example, the auto-lock time) are stored only on your phone.
None of this is sent to Reefstacks or to third parties. The app has no servers and doesn't connect to the internet to work.
Permissions
Photos: the app uses the system photo picker, which only gives it what you choose. On iPhone, if you ask to delete the originals after importing them, the app requests photo library access only to delete them, and iOS asks you to confirm.
Face ID or fingerprint: if you turn them on, the operating system verifies your identity. The app never receives or stores your biometric data.
Sharing: when you send files to Pearlnest from another app, the system gives it a temporary copy. The app encrypts it when you save it and deletes the copy; if you don't save it, the copy is deleted as well.
The app does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, location or contacts.
Backups
If you create a backup, the app produces an encrypted file that only opens with your recovery phrase. You decide where to keep it (for example, Google Drive, iCloud or your computer); that service is governed by its own privacy policy. Reefstacks never receives your backups.
On Android, the app excludes its data from the system's automatic backup. On iPhone, the device's iCloud backup may include the vault's files, but they remain encrypted and the key isn't included, so they can't be opened from that backup.
Analytics, ads and tracking
Pearlnest contains no ads, analytics tools, advertising identifiers or trackers, and shares no data with third parties.
How to delete your data
You can delete files one by one, or delete the whole vault in Settings. Uninstalling the app makes the system remove its data. Since we keep nothing about you, there's no data to ask us to delete.
Children
Pearlnest is not directed at children under 13 and does not collect data from anyone.

If this policy changes, we'll publish the new version on this page with its date. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also say so in the app.
